Our approach

Education that begins with wonder.

We are building a small, intentional preschool where English is the language of the day and learning unfolds through play, nature, and genuine connection. We plan to open our doors in September 2027 - and we are shaping that vision with input from families like yours.

English all day, naturally

Our plan is for English to be the language of the classroom - not a subject, but the air children breathe throughout the day. We intend to hire qualified, native-speaking early years educators who bring genuine warmth and expertise.

Small groups, known children

We are planning small class sizes so every child is truly known - their pace, their interests, their way of being in the world. Unhurried days, meaningful relationships, and space to grow without pressure.

Play as the work of childhood

We believe early childhood belongs to imagination, curiosity, and hands-on discovery. Our curriculum will be play-based and grounded in well-established early years practice - children learn best when they lead.

A home for international families

Prague 1 is one of Europe's most beautiful and historically rich neighbourhoods. We are designing a school that feels like home for children from English-speaking families, expat communities, and bilingual Prague families who want English immersion.

Who we are for

Designed for families rooted in an international life.

Linden Tree will be a natural home for families living and working in central Prague who want their children to grow up with English at the heart of their early years.

English-speaking families

Families from the UK, US, Australia and beyond

For families who have made Prague their home and want their child's early education to happen in their first language - in a small, nurturing setting that feels familiar and genuinely caring.

Expat & international families

Relocating or already settled in Prague 1

For families arriving from elsewhere in Europe or the wider world who want a school community that understands the international life - with warmth, flexibility, and an English-language day.

Bilingual Czech families

Prague families choosing English immersion

For Czech or bilingual families who value early English immersion and want their child to grow up comfortable in both languages from the very beginning of their education.

Diplomats & global community

Families of the international community in Prague

For families connected to embassies, international organisations, or global businesses who need a trusted, English-language preschool at the heart of the city.

Our philosophy

What we believe about early childhood.

We intend to build on something simple: that the earliest years of childhood are too important - and too brief - to rush. We are preparing a space where children are treated as whole people: curious, capable, and deserving of genuine attention and unhurried time.

Our approach will be shaped by well-established thinking in early years education: play-based learning, child-led inquiry, the importance of outdoor time and natural materials, and the deep value of consistent, caring relationships between educators and children. We will not follow a single methodology as a dogma. Instead, we aim to be thoughtful, principled, and always attentive to the individual child.

We also believe that the setting matters. Prague 1 - its parks, its architecture, its sense of history - is itself an extraordinary environment for a young child to inhabit. We plan to bring that world into the school, and take children out into it every day.

The child as a whole person

We plan to know each child individually - their pace, their moods, their ways of making sense of the world. No child will be rushed, compared, or measured against a standard that is not their own.

Language as lived experience

English will be the language of stories, songs, conversation, and comfort - not a lesson. Children absorb language naturally through daily life alongside educators and peers who speak it warmly and well.

Parents as genuine partners

We intend to build a real relationship with each family - not just an enrolment. Transparency, open communication, and partnership between home and school are central to how we plan to operate.

Where we will be

Prague 1 - historic centre.

We are establishing Linden Tree in Prague's historic first district - the Old Town and surroundings - chosen for its beauty, its international community, and its deep sense of place. We want children to grow up knowing that learning happens everywhere: in cobbled streets, riverside parks, and the quiet light of Bohemian mornings.

Our exact premises are not yet confirmed and will be announced in due course. What we can say: we are looking for a space that is calm, beautiful, and made for small people to thrive.

Exact address to be announced. Prague 1, Czech Republic.

A day with us

How we imagine a day at Linden Tree.

A picture of how a typical day might feel - always shaped by the children, the season, and whatever arrives in the morning.

8:30

A gentle arrival

Children arrive and ease into the day. Free play, familiar objects, and a warm welcome. No rush - just the gradual coming-together of the group.

9:30

Circle time & stories

The day begins together with songs, conversation, and stories - all in English. A place for listening, sharing, and the small rituals that give the day its shape.

10:00

Creative & structured play

Drawing, painting, building, making, imagining. Educators present and engaged - sometimes leading, more often watching and responding to what children are exploring.

11:00

Into the parks of Prague 1

We plan to spend time outdoors every day, in the parks and green spaces of central Prague. Fresh air, movement, nature, and the remarkable world right outside our door.

12:30

Lunch & rest

A proper, unhurried lunch together, followed by rest or quiet time. Each child's needs respected - no child pressed to sleep if they are not tired.

14:00

Afternoon discoveries

Small groups, independent exploration, art, construction, or the spontaneous projects that emerge when children have space and time. A settled end to the day.

Times are illustrative. The shape of each day will be developed with our first families and educators.

What we are planning

Our vision for 2027/2028.

English as language of the day

English will be the primary language of instruction and daily life in the school. Czech language awareness is part of our environment - we are, after all, in the heart of Bohemia.

Common questions

Questions families ask us.

Before you register, we want to answer every question honestly. Anything else - please write it in the message field below.

What ages will you accept?

We plan to welcome children from approximately 3 years of age through to primary school entry (around 6). Exact age eligibility will be confirmed as our plans develop. If your child is younger or older, please register your interest and tell us their year of birth - we will be in touch as things progress.

Will children need to speak English already?

No. English will be the language of the classroom and daily life, but children do not need to arrive speaking it. Young children acquire language through immersion - through songs, play, stories, and conversation with caring adults and peers. We plan to create an environment where every child feels safe while their English develops naturally.

When are you planning to open?

Our target is September 2027, for the 2027/2028 school year. We are in the preparatory phase - finding premises, developing our educational framework, and gathering interest from families. Families who register now will be among the first to receive updates and invitations to open events.

What does "registering interest" actually mean?

Nothing binding. Registering interest simply means you are letting us know your family might be interested in Linden Tree. There is no fee, no commitment, and no obligation whatsoever. You are not applying for a place. You are simply asking us to keep you informed - and we will only contact you about Linden Tree.

Where exactly will the school be?

We are establishing Linden Tree within Prague 1 - the historic first district, Old Town and surrounding neighbourhoods. Our exact premises are not yet confirmed and will be announced when the time is right. We are looking for a calm, beautiful space within easy reach of the parks and green spaces that will be part of our daily life.

What about fees and tuition costs?

We have not yet announced tuition fees for 2027/2028. We are committed to being transparent about pricing, and families who register interest will be the first to receive this information. If cost is an important factor in your decision, please register and note this in your message - we will be honest with you.

What happens after I register?

You will receive a brief confirmation from us. After that, we will be in touch with meaningful updates as our preparation progresses - news about premises, open evenings, enrolment timelines, and our educational approach. We will not send unnecessary messages. When we write, it will be worth reading.

Register your interest

Let us know your family might join us.

This is not an application or a binding commitment of any kind. It is simply a way to stay connected as we build Linden Tree. Families who register early will be the first to hear about open days, enrolment timelines, and news from our preparation.

Our promise: We will only contact you about Linden Tree Preschool. We will not share your details with third parties or use them for any other purpose. You may withdraw your interest at any time.
